Apaam = The Akasaganga, praised by Bhagiratha through penance, descended to Earth. The unbiased and helps every living being to live and grow in life. Cannot be stopped by anything. Will keep flowing. Also very important to purify – blood purification by kidneys etc. Main constituent in the body (70%). 

Poorvashada = Aashada means a brahmachari and Purva means time before brahmacharya – can be childhood / teenage. Ashada also means the invincible, rich man and a cheat. The person is very possessive, aggressive, stubborn and passionate. Poorva nakshatras are ugra and a related to the previous (Purva) birth (janma). The native is a cheater or will get cheated first and later will be victorious. Or the native is a spy / holds secrets like formulas / codes etc., or the job is involves secrecy like non-disclosure related to patents etc. 

Varcha=  Means Varchas, meaning radiance / splendor. The native is radiantly visible by his actions – one who has name and fame for winning. Varcha can also mean excrete – something related to kidneys, urinary tract and private organs.     

Samiti= group, battle, sexual union. The native is extremely fertile, however sometimes may not be interested to marry. యో అపాం పుష్పం వేద – పుష్పవాన్ ప్రజావాన్ పశుమాన్ భవతి

Meaning of this set of slokas is – water is the mother of everything. Flowers, People, Animals, Fire, Wind (Air), Sun (Heat or Mars), Moon, Stars, Clouds, Years (Time) came out of Water (memory, karmas).  

Ganga Avataranam (Bhagiratha Prayatnam): 

1. Vishnu’s feet: Born at Vishnu’s feet (especially during Vamana Avatara). 
2. Kapila Maharshi’s curse: Misunderstanding – Kapila to be a thief of the Yagna horse – Sagara’s sons confronted him and they got burnt to ashes. These ashes shall be washed in Ganga for purification of the souls, since they were not cremated.
3. Penance / Brahmacharya: Bhagiratha observed severe penance to liberate the souls of his ancestors for many thousands of years. He prayed to Brahma first who asked to pray to Ganga. Then prayed to Ganga observing penance for several thousands of years. 
4. Ganga’s Pride: laughed at Bhagiratha – claiming that the earth cannot withstand its force if she jumps from the cosmos directly on to the earth. Shiva takes the responsibility to hold it. 
5. Prayer to Shiva: Shiva was angry on Ganga and did not release her. Bhagiratha prayed Shiva to get it released. 
6. Jahnu Maharshi’s anger: Ganga came down as Bhagirathi, took many twists and turn following gravity and drowned the ashram of Jahnu Maharshi. Angry Jahnu Maharshi swallowed Ganga, released later as Jahnavi.
7. Success from Patience: Finally task accomplished. Bhagiratha got huge name and fame for completing such an impossible task. 
8. Purifier: Ganga is mentioned as purifier, energizer by washing our sins. Medicinal values are there in water (especially Ganga).
9. Bridge: Ganga works as a bridge between the 3 lokas: heaven, earth and netherworld. 

Shantanu – Ganga Story:

Shantanu, a Kuru king, fell in love with the beautiful river goddess Ganga. She agreed to marry him on the condition that he would never question her actions. They had eight children, but Ganga drowned each of them immediately after birth. When Shantanu questioned her about the eighth child, Ganga revealed her divine nature and explained that their children were the eight Vasus, cursed to be born as humans. She spared the eighth child, Devavrata (later known as Bhishma), and left Shantanu. This story sets the stage for the Mahabharata.

• Ganga did not come in go. Many times work starts, stops and then restarts etc. repeats like this.
