Accurately timing Marriage is crucial in today's world. 

We will use Vimsottari Dasa variations based on Moon's placement from D-1 Lagna.

In Vimsottari, we will use D-9 alone for timing. But in KCD, we will use D-1 for Maha Dasa (MD) and D-9 for selecting Antar Dasa (AD).

It is always important to use at least 2 dasa systems to get a proper timing for marriage. We are using Vimsottari and Kala Chakra here, both of which are highly recommended by Parashara Maharshi.

No Brahmacharya Yogas

Please refer to my article previously posted on Brahmacharya. Timing marriage has to be done only if there is no Brahmacharya Yoga, especially while using Vimsottari Dasa.  

Select the correct Vimsottari applicable to you – 

Vimsottari Dasa Variations

Check where the Moon is in D-1 from the ascendant. 

4,7,10 (Kendras) / 1,5,9 (Konas) – Use Janma Tara Vimsottari

2,6 – Use Kshema Tara Vimsottari

3,11 – Use Utpanna Tara Vimsottari

8,12 – Use Aadhaana Tara Vimsottari

These variations are available in the softwares that we are using – including Jagannatha Hora (JH). In JH, select options after selecting Vimsottari dasa – change in Nakshatra Dasa starting point.

D-1 Chart

After Vimsottari Dasa variation is selected according to the placement of Moon in D-1 chart as described above, please note the following in D-1 Chart.

  1. The lord of 9th house 
  2. Planets placed in Rasis owned by the 9th lord.
  3. Planets conjoined 9th lord.

The above 2 planets are over-riders, they can give marriage if their Dasa / Antar dasa come.

The purpose of D-1 is over now, we will use D-9 from hereon.

D-9 chart

  • Any planet in 9th house / 9th lord / rarely connections.
  • Any planet in Directional Strength / Vargottama can qualify even without obeying below rules. 

Observe the 7th house of D-9 chart. 

If 7th house is a Fixed Sign:

  • Look for planets placed in trines and 7th from 7th house.
  • That means, from the ascendant of D-9: planets placed in 1st, 3rd, 7th and 11th will qualify. Also the 7th lord is qualified.
  • If there are no planets in the above houses, then check the 7th lord, reckon it as 7th house. Look for planets in trines and 7th.

If 7th house is a Movable Sign:

  • Look for planets in trines (1,5,9) and 7th from 1st house. 
  • That means, from the ascendant of D9: planets placed in 1st, 5th, 7th and 9th will qualify. Also 1st lord is qualified. 
  • If there are no planets in the above houses, then check the 7th lord and then reckon it as Lagna. Look for planets in trines and 7th. 

If 7th house is a Dual Sign:

  • Look for planets in trines and 7th from the 7th lord. Also Jupiter and Mercury will qualify automatically. 
  • Check who is the 7th lord (who is always either Jupiter or Mercury) and find planets in trines and 7th from it. Other than these Mercury and Jupiter are qualified automatically. 
  • Also check if the 7th lord is in 1st. In this case, use the 1st lord and apply the above rule.

Check the Vimsottari Dasa running at the marriageable age first and then try to qualify it. Instead of doing it the other way around. Both Maha Dasa lord and Antar Dasa lord are qualified the same way. 

Kala Chakra Dasa - Marriage Timing

We are using Shakti Mohan Singh’s way of calculating the KCD. In JHora software, select Kala Chakra Dasa, and from the options, choose the Calculation Method of SM Singh.

MD from D-1

Reckon the Maha Dasa (MD) as Lagna in D-1 chart. Now, check connections between 1 and 7. It can be any of the following 

  • 1st and 7th  lords are conjoined.
  • 1st lord in 7th or 7th lord in 1st. 
  • Nodes (Rahu and Ketu) in 1-7 axis. 
  • 1st and 7th lords are placed in signs which are owned by a single planet. In this case, Leo and Cancer are considered as owned by single planet. 

AD from D-9

Reckon the Antar Dasa (AD) as Lagna in D-9 chart. Now, check connections between 1 and 7. It can be any of the following 

  • 1st and 7th  lords are conjoined.
  • 1st lord in 7th or 7th lord in 1st. 
  • Nodes (Rahu and Ketu) in 1-7 axis. 
  • 1st and 7th lords are placed in signs which are owned by a single planet. In this case, Leo and Cancer are considered as owned by single planet. 

If the MD and AD are both qualified in D-9 chart, using above rules – the probability becomes even higher for marriage. So, if you are seeing many Maha Dasas qualifying, try qualifying it in D-9 also.  

Similarly, if 9th lord also conjoins along with 1 and 7 – the probability further increases.
