Childlessness

Adoption

or Combinations for Childlessness

As a first step, the cusp, lord and dispositor nakshatras of 5th house of Rasi chart can give insights of childlessness / having children. Additionally, 1st house shall be observed similarly. Some nakshatras deny progeny, some may pose delays or some may deny male children. These nakshatras are explained below.

Mercury and Saturn are neuters (transgenders). They are not capable of producing children as Mercury is a child and Saturn is an old man.

Mercury and Saturn connected to 1/5 in D1. Besides this, the same Mercury and Saturn are connected to 5th house in D7 (Saptamsa).

Caution:

Please do not declare childlessness using just 1 divisional chart and 1 rule. Apply all the rules, the more rules match, more are the chances. D-7, the Saptamsa always holds the final say in case of children.

Sun - the Karaka for progeny

Sun’s Sankramana Dosha

Check in D1 and D7 – more the connection is, the more stronger it is.

Sankramana is the day on which Sun moves to the next zodiac sign. This happens around the 14th of every month. During this time, Sun is very weak and usually promotes childlessness.

Observe the degrees of Sun. When the degrees are above 29 and below 1 are detrimental for progeny, when connected to 1st / 5th / 9th. It means that the day of Sankramana is bad for progeny.

Depending on the D-7 chat, this combination may deny children, deny grand children or deny male children for the native.

Sun’s placement from Maithuna Padas

Check in Rasi Chart (D1) only.

Arudha Padas of the 3rd house and 9th house, namely A3 and A9 are called Maithuna padas. These promote physical relationship between the couple, which are important for progeny. Sun when placed in 6,8,12 from both these padas would mean poor physical ability in the person to produce a healthy sperm or ovum. This would mean doctor consultation is required.

When one of the A3 and A9 is better placed from Sun, the relief due to medication is faster.

Houses: Controller and Destroyer

Men:

Controller – 5th

Destroyer – 6th

5th house represents the Purva Punya and the controller house. Men are blessed with children when they have Purva Punya from the past life. The 2nd house from 5th house, i.e., the 6th house becomes the destroyer (maraka) of 5th.

Therefore, the 6th lord placed in 5th / 1st can delay / deny progeny. Similarly, 1st /5th lord in 6th can also mean this. This can be seen in both D1 and D7.

Women:

Controller – 9th

Destroyer – 10th

9th house represents the womb (garbhashaya) of the women. This 9th house is based on 5th from 5th rule. The 2nd house from 9th house, i.e., the 10th house becomes the destroyer (maraka) of 9th.

Therefore, the 10th lord placed in 5th / 1st can delay / deny progeny. Similarly, 1st /5th lord in 10th can also mean this. This can be seen in both D1 and D7.

Nakshatra - Connections in D1
5th / 1st - Dispositor, Cusp, Lords

Mrigasira

Parvati did not have children of her own. However, Skanda and Vinayaka were adopted by Parvati. Viswedevas requested Parvati not to have children.

Adoption is common here.

Arudra

One of the significations in this nakshatra is lost, as Rudra (Shiva) has lost his wife, Sati Devi. Usually, it is not very good for any Jeevas (5th / 7th / 9th etc). Rudra is the destroyer, who kills people.

If other significations indicate childlessness, it is promoted. Otherwise, male children may not be there.

Most times, when Mercury is strong in swakshetra – will indicate childlessness (as 5th lord and significator both will be in Arudra).

Aslesha

Aslesha represents serpents and birds, which originate from eggs. Aslesha would indicate issues at the egg formation level. If there are any issues, there are issues on egg release / fertilization process etc.

Swati

Only one child is good. More children –some issues of development at physical level / financial level.

Visakha

Visakha sometimes indicates denial as one signification is lost, like Arudra.

However, sometimes may also indicate that one child is good and the others are not very well developed physically or financially.

Jyesta

Parvati cursed Indra along with the Viswedevas to not have children.

However, this is a neutral nakshatra for children. Look at other significations, If other significations show childlessness, native is childless.

Uttarashada

Viswedevas were cursed by Parvati – not to have children. Here begetting children is difficult.

Dhanistha

Bheeshma (one of the Ashta Vasus) did not marry and beget children. However, he adopted both Kauravas and Pandavas as his own grandchildren. Begetting children is remote possibility here. Adoption is common.

Purva Bhadra

Ganesha (unmarried) in Purva Bhadra, does not have children.

All other Nakshatras

All other nakshatras are neutral for children. Look for planets now. Saturn, Mercury are neuters.

Saturn & Mercury - D1 & D7
Most Important of all Rules

D1

Lagna / 5th house

Or their lords

Saturn and Mercury are connected to either ascendant or 5th house by lordship / placement / aspect. Can also aspect the lord / conjoin of 5th / 1st.  Both may also throw an argala by being in 12th and 2nd.

D7

5th house / 5th lord

The 5th house / lord will have connection to Saturn / Mercury by lordship, placement / aspect. Do not forget Saturn’s 3 and 10 aspects here.

D9

Saturn, Mercury, Venus, Lagna

(optional)

a.      Saturn, Mercury will be in trines to Venus or Lagna. (or)

b.      Saturn, Mercury will be influencing Lagna / Lagna lord

c.      One from both the above. Meaning, Mercury in trines, Saturn aspecting lagna or lagna lord in Saturnine sign or vice versa.

Check for some weird possibilities, which usually the beginners miss (especially in case of D1 and D7):

  • Fifth lord placed in Aquarius (Saturn) conjoined Mercury. Don’t forget the Rasi Lord.
  • Fifth house is Virgo, 5th lord in aspected by Saturn’s 3rd aspect.

Reasons for Childlessness:

Ashwini Connection:
They were denied entry into Heaven

Ketu – means Ashwini.

Mars – means Aries.

Sun – exalts in Ashwini.

Ketu, Mars, Sun.

These planets are connected to 1 /5 by placement, lordship/aspect. Can be close to lagna degrees also.

Ashwini in Sarvotobhadra Chakra

Ashwini receiving Vedas, Aspects, Lattas from cruel planets like Sat, Rahu, Ketu, Mars, Sun and Mercury (neuter).

These help in finding reasons for the denial of children, like fallopian tubes blockage, difficulty to release eggs, lower sperm count or another medical ailment etc. So, these rules shall not be used to check childlessness, but shall be used only to find reasons. First confirm childlessness using previously laid rules and check for reasons using these rules.
