వసూనాగ్ శ్రవిష్టాః భూతం

Vasoonaag = Vasu would mean Vasudha, the earth (richness / material wealth). Vasu can mean something that dwells in another thing. Like people live on earth etc. Vasoonag is plural for the above. Also can mean Vasu and Naag – meaning Uttarashada and Aslesha together.  

Shrvasitha = 1) Famous, One who is most heard of – kind of hero of a tale. 2) The act of narration and listening. 3) Producing sound using a drum and hearing it using ear-drum 4) Atharva Vedam 

Bhootam = 1) some thing that lives on Bhoo+tam (creature), 2) well-being, welfare, prosperity, 3) son 4) son / child of 5) past, actually that happened 6) ghost, that works at night (sleep issues / work at night shift / lot of work) 7) Earth as one of those 5 elements – most famous.      

Bhooti=  1) Ashta Sidhis – Anima (shrinking), Mahima (expanding), Garima (becoming heavy), Laghima (becoming light), Prapti (obtaining anything), Prakamya (fulfilling desires), Ishitva (divine control), Vashitva (subduing others) – These siddhis are often seen as milestones in spiritual progress but are generally regarded as distractions on the path to ultimate liberation. 2) Bhasma – holy ash worn on the forehead – Bha + Asma – “that makes me/self shine or prosperous” 3) Sampatti – Ishwarya – prosperity / abundance 4) Ashta Lakshmis – 8 signs of prosperity – Adi Lakshmi (eternal wealth), Dhana Lakshmi (money), Dhanya Lakshmi (food), Gaja Lakshmi (power), Santana Lakshmi (progeny), Veera Lakshmi (valor), Vidya Lakshmi (knowledge), Vijaya Lakshmi (victory). 5) nicely decorated elephant – ready for waging a war / royal travel – baby elephants need longer coaching from mother (developmental issues to children) 6) Separating / distinguishing between two entities and always winning over the other (similar to Uttarashada) 7) Fried meat (kababs ) or spicy meat 8) birth, capability to give birth, 9) substances that help in success and material prosperity 10) the grass that a wild goat eats 11) Aromatic roots,  serves everyone in the family.

Ashta-Vasus, Ganga-Shantanu:

• The 8 elemental deities of earthly abundance -who are usually mentioned as pairs. There are other variations in other texts – however, they exist in pairs is agreed universally.
  • Dhara (Earth) & Anala (Fire).
  • Aapah (Water) & Varuna (Cosmic order)
  • Akasha / Dyaus (Space) & Anila (Wind) 
  • Sun (Arka) and Moon (Soma)
• Ashta Vasus on visiting Vashista’s Ashram, they got enticed to Nandini – the holy cow. Prabhasa got attracted more to it, started dragging it to take it away to his home. The other 7 vasus did not stop him from doing so.
• Vashista cursed them to be born as mortals on the earth. They could chose the womb – they have chosen Ganga-Shantanu pair.

• Meeting and Marriage: King Shantanu, a revered ruler of the Kuru dynasty, once met Ganga, the goddess of the river Ganges, while hunting. Captivated by her beauty, he asked her to marry him. Ganga agreed on the condition that Shantanu would never question her actions.

• Marriage and Conditions: Shantanu and Ganga married and lived together happily. However, Ganga began performing mysterious and distressing acts. She threw their children into the river, and Shantanu, unable to bear this, questioned her actions.

• Departure: Ganga then revealed her divine nature and explained that she was bound by a curse to do so. She had been cursed to be the mother of seven Vasus (divine beings) who were cursed to be born on Earth. By throwing the children into the river, she was freeing them from their earthly bonds.

• Separation: Ganga left Shantanu and took their remaining child, Bhishma, with her. She raised Bhishma in divine realms before returning him to his father. Shantanu was heartbroken but respected Ganga’s decision.

• Bhishma: Bhishma, who was originally the eighth Vasu, took a vow of celibacy and renunciation to ensure his father’s happiness and to fulfill his role in the epic. His story and legacy play a crucial role in the Mahabharata.

Bhishma:

• Mother and father separated. Mother raised him in the initial years in divine realms and later handed him over to his father (Shantanu). 
• The person is extremely attached to his mother or completely dislikes his mother – like Aslesha. Usually, mother is more powerful (earning) than father. Can also mean father is jobless / dead / ill and mother is working or mother-side people have helped the family. The initial days – mother has tutored the native many times on worldly things.
• Born as Devavrata. Meaning Devanaam Vratancha – Uttarashada – one who cannot marry or one who gets brahmacharya at a later age (due to reasons like partner’s divorce, death, ill-health to spouse or self etc). Or Devas did not have children – may not be having interest in sexual activities or medical reasons due to which unable to reproduce, irreconcilable differences with spouse due to which celibacy is taken up, spiritual progress and couple decided to evade sexual activities etc.
• Bheeshma has been an Army commander (Mars exalts here) for his life- for his half-brothers and their children – the native wins all wars that bring material success in life. However, he is constantly in servitude (like the Nagas in Aslesha) guarding the wealth – which he cannot spend and will give it away to his siblings / next generations.
• Similar to Uttarashada – the native sees himself as a separate entity always and will be interested in materialistic endeavors by constantly winning over others. This can make the native highly self-centered at youth / stingy / not interested in sharing resources with others.
• Bhishma got his name from the Bhishma Pratigna (Resolution) he has taken – which he stood on firmly. Once taken, natives will not break their vows / resolutions etc., even in difficult situations. 
• Bhishma faced issue only once in the Kurukshetra war from Shikhandi (eunuch). Problems from eunuchs/transgenders. A third person (unconnected) disturbing the partnership in a marriage / business. 
• Bhishma is extremely devotional and recited the Vishnu Sahasranama on the death bed – and waited for the death to come. Native is generally religious and has a high span of life (However, whole horoscope matters).
• Bhishma had excellent knowledge of 4 purushartas. However, he being a Army commander, could only advise the king (Duryodhana) but cannot influence the decision.

Mars’ Exaltation:

• Mars exalts at the 28th degree – which falls in 1st pada of Dhanishta. 
• Mars likes war and winning – which denotes self-centeredness. 
• Mars denotes celibacy since when there is a war, the soldiers are practicing celibacy (as spouses are taking care of children away from the war).
• An army commander is always a servant of the king, Sun. 
• Army looks at winning and will get all the gold, land and other wealth of the country won. 
• As the army wins, they will get a good name in the world, Mars likes gaining name and to shine – fiery planet.

• Focused on self (at least in the youth) and earning wealth – excellent career opportunities and winning over enemies / competition. 
• Mother tutoring native in childhood and then father takes over. Mother earning more than the father. Mother is more renowned in the family. 
• Mother and father may be living together in a pact. Or they are divorced. Or father has not enough income and the mother’s siblings have supported them in initial days. Or father has died and native’s maternal grand parents supported him – similar to Aslesha. Or father is not enough powerful at home (busy at office).
• Native is interested in playing musical instruments (drums / flute) or dance or singing.  Issues with ear-drums / ears / hearing / earwax.
• When at the end of Capricorn / start of Aquarius – will indicate issues with rhythm / sound – cardiac (heart) problems 
• Native is very descriptive like Chitra (like Vishnu Sahasra Nama) – gives a detailed explanation when asked to explain. 
• Native is unmarried / divorced / spouse threatening to leave, if some agreed conditions are not met / due to spiritual progress following celibacy / native is working away from family – forced bachelorhood.

1. Dundubhi / Drums: 1) Native is making announcements that everybody has to listen. 2) Varuna – the native is looking at crime-punishment (Karma) every where 3) The maximum that can come up when a dice is thrown. Native is making money and fame. 4) A pattern/ rhythm producing sound. 

2. Flute: Native has a good interest for rhythm / pattern. Interested in singing / playing instruments / dancing. Native has issues of cardiac – where sound is critical. Native is feeling some emptiness from inside, despite being rich. 

3. Ear-drum: Dhanishta – emphasizes on listening once again like Shravana. However, Dhanishta comprises of 2 people -one talking and the other is listening – showing master and a slave relationship. 

4. Female Lion: Female Lions form a group and starting hunting. Always its female lions responsibility to provide food for the cubs. Only when a large prey is to to hunted, that’s when Male Lion (Purva Bhadrapada) extends help. In fact, female Lions do not seek help for hunting. Native’s mother nurtures him and will be more powerful. Mother’s side people provide a lot of assistance. Long time cubs are with the mother learning skills – autism etc are represented here.

5. Well-decorated elephant: represents the native is ready for going on a royal travel or ready to wage a war. Indicates material prosperity. Elephants as well will train babies for a long time – autism etc. from here too.
